A giant in every sense with a fantastic personality. l remember him from the early 90s when Wade Dooley took him out with a huge forearm smash. He took the magic sponge then resumed play like nothing had happened. I also thought he was tremendous in the original Living With Lions dvd when the Lions beat South Africa.

Great guy and a legend of our game. l wish him all the very best.

Fair point. We can't afford anything less than our 100% strongest 23 players to front up to the mighty All Blacks - and if Sam isn't up to the challenge l'm sure even he would hold his hands up. lts not about individuals, its about winning a series - and it'll be a bloody long wait until 2029 to put the record straight.

Absolutely gutted for poor Stuart Hogg - having to end his tour with that nasty facial fracture. l wish him all the very best for a swift and full recovery.

According to the BBC news feed, there is no plans to call up a replacement at this stage with Leigh Halfpenny, Jared Payne, Liam Williams and Anthony Watson deemed sufficient options for the full back jersey.

Maybe have a word with your County Rep and see if they can get some advice at the next County Committee Meeting. Durham County RFU's next committee meeting takes place on Tues 11th July at Durham City RFC - unless you are with a Northumberland club.

lf thats where the line is drawn l very much doubt the RFU will wnt to budge. Even if it is for the benefit of struggling level 9 teams.

It would be nice but player registration puts the mockers on everything where league fixtures are concerned - even way down at Level 9 (D+N3).

Stats look rather ominous already.
Played  -2
Won - 1
Lost - 1
Pts scored - 29
Pts conceded- 29
Tries scored - 2
Tries conceded - 4

This tour is only going to get a hell of a lot tougher, so our lads are going to have to sink or swim. Hope they've taken their cossies.

What on earth was Jack Nowell thinking when he allowed himself to get sucked right in and manufacture a HUGE gap on his wing to make a try inevitble. Our tactical play, and discipline in particular, was very poor today. Just as well the Blues had two tries disallowed otherwise it could have looked like a scudding on paper.

Based on the first two games, the future looks rather bleak. How we react to this loss in the next game against the Crusaders will be crucial. On current form l predict a 3-0 total "Black-wash"

You should get a full refund and a letter of apology from the NCC. l also think one or two heads should roll from their ivory tower. How can teams advocate fair play and decency when the big wigs can't demonstrate the Core Values of our lovely game? Bloody idiots.

Durham & Northumberland One / Re: Guisborough back in DN1

l'm all for North Yorkshire teams competing in the DN league system and have many fond memories of games (followed by raucous nights out) in Whitby, Guisborough, Wensleydale, Northallerton then closer to home at Redcar, Guisborough and Middlesbrough.

A quick way to cut out the arguments and promote a sense of belonging and unity would be to rebrand to Durham, Northumberland and North Yorkshire. At least that way we'd all be getting what was written on the tin.
