Do we think games will be on this weekend?

Other Senior Rugby / Cup Finals Day - Kingston Park
« on: January 09, 2018, 04:09:24 PM »
I've seen various people mention this on here in the past. This is something I may be keen on bringing up in the future...

Can I ask, what people's thoughts are on having ALL senior cup finals at Kingston Park on one Saturday?

The downside would be that the club asked to host the event will lose out on bar takings. However, £500 would be given to each club for reaching a final. What would people's thoughts be on this?

Yay or nay? (Poll attached. Please vote!)

Durham & Northumberland One / Tragic news from Medicals
« on: December 16, 2017, 12:06:47 PM »
Our thoughts go to Meds.

The Club is devastated to hear of the tragic death of one of the Meds' players, Marcus Colville during the week. Marcus, who was a medical student aged 21, was found dead on Wednesday. As a mark of respect their scheduled game at Ponteland has been postponed.

Durham & Northumberland Two / Darlington Quakers RFC....

I see Darlo are playing at 7pm tonight. I presume this is so the football team can take precedence. This doesn’t bode well if/when the football club continue their rise back up the leagues...

Posting under the same IP address as Rolf Savile. We were going to see if he'd learned his lesson but sadly not. To see his idiocy you can read it in this short lived thread.

North One / Morpeth Rugby Nats
« on: October 18, 2017, 09:15:44 AM »
Morpeth received plenty of good coverage on facebook/twitter in the last week via Rugby Nats.

I'd say these are some of the better videos. There's around 6 or 7 of them; all different.

Durham & Northumberland One / 02/09/17 DN1 Predictions
« on: August 30, 2017, 11:09:00 AM »
Barney - Gosforth. Bernard to carry on from last year and get a victory
Gateshead - Medicals. Heed to beat a presumably studentless Meds
Guis - Pont. Welcome back Guisborough. I expect a comfy win for them here.
Horden - Durham. Durham to bounce back from relegation with a win.
Redcar - Rovers. Redcar to continue last season's form.
Westoe - Novos. A surprise away win (please!)
Stockton - Consett. A few months ago I would have said Consett, but with Stockton's new signing....home win. Match of the day for me

Morpeth lost to Tynedale 4 tries to 2. Not a terrible result for them

Other Senior Rugby / Durham Senior County Cup
« on: May 11, 2017, 10:15:30 PM »
Final Score:

Mowden Park 64-5 West Hartlepool

I think Durham should follow Northumberland and only let National 1/2 sides play their 2nd XVs in the Senior cup...

Well done Mowden though

County Championships are back again. North in the top competiton. I think Durham are in the 2nd tier with Cumbria.

Quote
The 2017 Men’s County Championships sees 28 counties compete with each side being seeded using results from the previous three seasons.

Each team is divided into three tiers with 12 in Tier One, 8 in Tier Two, and 8 in Tier Three.

All tiers will play a minimum of three matches and a maximum of four. This will produce three finals, all to be played at Twickenham.

Promotion and relegation will now take place every two seasons with points accumulated from season one continuing into the following season.

This means counties will have the chance to cement their position in the most appropriate pool and avoid situations where the same teams are being promoted one year only to be relegated the next.

Come on this used to be the best board on the forum! It's all quiet on the western front these days! It's your last predictions for nearly 5 months!

Ashington v Whitby. Ash to pip it with home advantage
Blyth v Redcar. Redcar to finish a great season in style.
Darlington v Whitley Bay Rockcliff. Rock HAVE to win and win big for any hope to go up.
Ponteland v Seaton Carew. Pont to cap off a successful season with a victory here. Seaton Carew will have to regroup next year.
Sedgefield v Bishop Auckland. Sedge to finish the season showing they do deserve to be in the league!
Sunderland v North Shields. Clsoe game but Sunderland by 7
Winlaton Vulcans v South Shields. Winlaton will be pushing for a comfortable 9th placed finish
