U13's upward can hand off to the face with open hand and bent arm.  As regarding the law change, I believe it only applies to the tackler to eradicate high tackles with swing arms and shoulders to the head.

Seaham V Houghton has been cancelled.  Seaham unable to field a team.

Houghton Boars host Consett 3rds though.

Hats off to them if they get a team for that away game.

Newton Aycliffe v Jarrovians - Home BP win, Aycliffe just the stronger team and at home.
Prudhoe & Stocksfield v Houghton - Away BP win (fingers crossed).  Houghton pretty much back at full strength and should run in a few tries if we pull our fingers out.
Richmondshire v Chester-Le-Street - Away win with a losing BP.  Its going to be a close game and could go either way to be honest.
Seaham v Washington - From what I have seen from both these teams this season I have to go with an away win, but if Seaham have got there missing players back, it could be a close game with a losing BP going either way.
Sedgefield v Yarm - Away win.  Yarm going strong this season and Sedgefield still picking themselves up.
Seghill v Whitby - Away win with a Seghill losing BP.

Chester-Le-Street v Jarrovians - Chester, they have home advantage and held Houghton last week up until the 70 minute mark.
Houghton v Seaham - I have to go with my team Houghton and wish I was fit to play in this close fierce derby match.  Time to end Seaham's winning streak against us!
Seghill v Sedgefield - Seghill, just because Sedgefield did not field a team last week and that could mean alsorts of player problems, or a wedding, who knows?
Washington v Richmondshire - Washington, gave Houghton a scare in pre-season, beat P & S away and have home advantage.  Looks like they have a squad this season.
Whitby v Prudhoe & Stocksfield - Whitby, massive home advantage, beat Aycliffe away, and P & S got beat at home to Washington.  Guessing they have lost some players.
Yarm v Newton Aycliffe - Aycliffe, just can't write off last season form yet, this will be a close one I think.

Durham & Northumberland Three / Player Assistant Coach at Houghton
« on: April 28, 2014, 09:01:02 AM »
Just seen an advertisement for a player assistant coach at my club Houghton, maybe a good opportunity for someone interested in getting into coaching and managing a team as I believe they are offering coaching qualifications etc.

Watched sedgefield v houghton and i wonder who had a cry off on saturday as houghton had an awful lot of "new" faces. quite a few of them didnt seem to know their team mates names.  :-X ;D

Interesting, our team has barely changed for several seasons now.  Our team against Sedgefield from what I recall had 4 changes from our "starting 15" who are all long serving players of our club and 2nd team, The Boars.  They were a light weight 22 year old hooker, an 35 year old experienced second row, a unpredictable 21 year old scrum half, and a 29 year old shit off a stick winger.

So either our lads had a few beers before the game and forgot each others names or you have not seen many Houghton games.

I would say Richmondshire, hate the place, small pitch and on a massive hill, always seems to rain when I've played there.  Richmondshire are not a top table team at the moment, but there has been a few close battles at their ground.  Nice club house now though.

In a close second I would say Winlaton,  above sea level, on a hill, and again, I don't think i've had a warm dry game up there.
