DN1 - 14 teams
DN2 - 12 teams
DN3- 10 teams
DN4 - 7 teams

2 up 2 down from all leagues apart from DN4-1 up 1 down, poss play off

Not really a fan of play once then split the leagues TBH......

Thought that was the problem PP-they couldnt get fixtures (or enough competitive fixtures)?

I know they couldnt go back & forth but they could have various players over the season.

Mind i would have loved the chance to play at the arena (hopefully the odd DMPE will get played there)!  Even if it was in a hammering!

In the midst of this virus-stay safe guys.

Hello Mowden Tank!

I agree DMP & DMPE must do whats best for them and thats not to provide players to other clubs.

The worry most of us have is the creation of superclubs-if DMPE can join the league then so can, and probably will, others.  At a detriment to smaller clubs.  Where do you stop-a club with 1 team in (for example) DN2 & 1 in DN3?

The way i see it DMP run 2 teams, both will be in the league.  So you have 2 squads.   Do you believe there will be no crossover?   if you arent in the 1st XV squad you will be after a game.  I wouldnt hang around if i was told sorry you cant play for the 2nds and left holding my boots for weeks.

No bitterness at DMP, think its great they have progressed up the league i just dont 1 club with multiple league teams.

Most memorable win: beating & scoring against tynedale 2nds
Closest game:had a junior cup game that was 3-3 at full time, and the same score extra time.  Think we won as we scored first!
Biggest defeat: blaydon 2nds with some firsts in (they asked we said yes-no idea why) lost count at 100......
Biggest win:played nearly 20 years so had a few 50 pointers though the refs (quite rightly) try to even it up (not DN league rugby)

There is going to have to be some sort of league realignment when the "second team" league applications come in from the likes of Tynedale & Blaydon.........any other clubs strong enough to field 2 teams in the DN leagues?

Hypothetical (though possibly not?) i know but naff all else to do!

No north & south leagues for me.

Make DN3 10 teams, that gives approx 8 teams in DN4 (depending on which, if any teams join)

And DMP Liz's to start at the bottom-no jumping leagues or Blaydon 2nds (for example) go straight to DN1?

Has Acklam & Boro not been level transferred in & out of DN1/Yorkshire leagues a few times.

Poor sods must be sick of it-or are they not bothered?

I have had my say on 2nd teams in leagues in the past. The decision has been made so I will say no more about it until the end of next season to see how it goes. I will also take this opportunity to wish DMP Elizabethans the best of luck for the season ahead.

Good post PPOH, wish all teams the best of luck (apart from when they are playing us  :D).

13 teams means a 26 week season (24 matches and 2 bye weeks) which means 4 fewer dates for any re-arranged games due to weather, cry-offs etc.

Personally i think its too much for the lowest level (my level when i was a player in case anyone takes offence).

Squads will be pushed to far & i predict too many walkovers or no shows, adding a potentially strong team doesnt help either.

Only played at Border Park twice, got completely hammered after the game both times!

As long as the club is still going it doesnt matter that its outside the DN leagues-keep up the good work!
