There were a few action photos of Sunderland Flames in action during their victory over Manchester posted in last night's Echo. Cracking snap of community rugby coach Laura Coleman on the charge. Keep up the hard work lasses - doing your city very proud!!!

Honestly Neil, they are a fantastic set of girls... and there is real talent there... Rumour has it that DMP are off to the Falcons soon so they could be the top side in Durham soon.

Think they will consolidate this season and then start pushing upwards.

I know Laura very well mate - she is the CRC for the catchment area Seaham are in. Along with Matt Bryan, she has been a massive help to the Harbour for the past ten years or so.

It is mate but l don't miss it as much as l thought l would and still try to catch their home games where my shifts permit. I've been approached by two clubs and invited to get involved with them but my heart wouldn't be in it any more.

Besides, l'm now a free spirit who can go wherever l fancy to enjoy a game. Having been involved in rugby since 1978 means l've made a lot of friends and acquaintences in a great many clubs and always get "looked after" when l visit. So it ain't turned out too bad at all mate.

Appreciate that mate, cheers, but l'm enjoying all of my free time way too much to spoil things. If my 8 year old grandson starts taking rugby seriously in the near future he'll have my full support - only thing is he's footy mad at the moment so it'll all have to revolve around that.
