Sunday 5th Memorial Game
« on: February 27, 2017, 12:09:55 PM »

Hello All
I think all on here will have known of the sad death of one of our own earlier in the season. Terry Parsons was playing for Newton Aycliffes "NEWTONIANS" against Houghton "BOARS" when he collapsed. Despite the great efforts from members of both clubs and the emergency services Terry passed away tragically at the age of 48 leaving a loving family, friends and many comrades in the rugby community.
This Sunday 5th March the fixture between Newton Aycliffe and Houghton will be replayed at Kingston Park prior to Falcons league clash with Saracens. Falcons showed support for both clubs and Terrys family in the aftermath of this tragedy and have shown great support for the local rugby community in offering the fixture to be played at the Premiership ground.
Collections will be taken at the ground for the RFU Injured Players Foundation. A great cause that we all hope we never have to require but is there for all of us.
If your planning on going to the game on Sunday why not get there earlier and make a full day of it, cheer and support both teams on what will be an emotional event not just for Aycliffe and Houghton but all of us who love the game.

Kick Off is 10:45 and entry is via your match day ticket for the Falcons.

Thanks Affer, NARUFC

What a fitting tribute that is. l propped against Terry numerous times over the years and always found him a nice lad. Hope the game is a great one.
