Play off implications
« on: April 11, 2017, 10:27:45 AM »
Durham City and Guisborough are both unfortunately coming down from North One East. That opens up the debate about which league they go into again. Hopefully Barney or Westoe will beat West Leeds or York in the play offs and both City and Guis can fall into D & N1 but If they don't I would assume Guisborough would go into Yorkshire 1 ? Acklam were the last club to be transferred across to that league and find themselves bottom and going into Yorkshire Division 2 nest season.

Yorkshire 1 is a stacked and hard league. Unlikely a team will drop into that league and manage to stay in the top half. Who ever plays West Leeds will have their work cut out!

Yorkshire 1 is a very hard league, but if Barney get West Leeds at home I think they could cause an upset!!!
Acklam will be going into dn2 next season not y2!

There is a similar thread in the North One forum.  My humble opinion is below.

"The basis of deciding which club should level transfer to Yorkshire 1 will again be Lowest Total Mileage to the other clubs.  As Guisboro and Redcar will no doubt claim they have to travel to virtually Middlesbrough before they start their journey south then their mileage should be greater than Middlesbrough RUFC.  If Boro cannot find another reason to evade transfer it looks, to me, like it could be them."

Redcar should be okay as they have to drive past Guisborough and Middlesbrough to reach the A19 and/or A1. I reckon its between the latter two, but what the hell would l know? l'm just a humble Sunderland lad who lives in Seaham.

Acklam should go to D&N2 as they did the last time they were level transferred.
So that will have another knock on effect so 2 teams may have to go!!!!!

The RFU should go back to their original plans and make the leagues smaller and more local. That way D&N1 and Yorkshire 1 could be split into 3 leagues.

Well funny you should say that! If the leagues are split into 3 then, if ever there is a call for 3 referees then it makes sense to have one from each county...  ;D ;D :-X

Really though if we look at the logistics I'm sure we would need 10 sides in 3 leagues so divid D&N1 and Yorkshire 1 into three that would need 30 clubs at the moment there's only 14 in each so take into consideration the promotion spots, play offs and relegations places, it would be South Yorkshire 1 (SY1) North Yorkshire & South Durham 1 (NY&SD1) and North Durham & Northumberland 1, (ND@N1) that way it would be possible to include the following clubs overall! Guisborough, Redcar and Aclam probably in NY&SD1, H/Pool and Ryton could stay in the frame?

Just thought I'd chuck that one in the ring! Any suggestions?

If Acklam are coming into DN2 who will they replace?

Ryton and Hartlepool are Durham clubs relegated from DN1 and Aycliffe and Richmond have come up from DN3 so it would appear either Richmond or Whitby would be level transferred, neither can dispute they are Yorkshire clubs can they?

Correct me if I'm wrong but the last time Acklam came back into DN2
I think there was an odd number of teams ie 15 meaning someone sat out a week

Can anyone confirm?

I think that was the year before  roverthemoon, not sure why.
Simple solution is to put Acklam back into dn1 😂😂👍

Yes but that's not going to happen because they were relegated
