Relegation 2020
« on: March 15, 2020, 10:36:10 AM »
Iíve never seen a table this close for the drop with 4-5 games to go. You could argue anyone from 6th down could get the last relegated slot. There are only 8 points between Kendal (6th) and Bradford (3rd bottom). I hope the season isnít cut short as how can you delegate anyone when itís this close?

6. Kendal pl. 22 P. 61
7. Pocklington pl. 22. P. 57
8. Scarborough pl. 22 P. 56
9. Durham City pl. 22. P. 54
10. Percy Park pl. 22. P. 54
11. Malton and Norton pl. 21. P. 54
12. Bradford pl. 21. P.53
13. West Hartlepool (relegated)
14. Huddersfield YMCA (relegated)

Iím informed by a very reliable source the community leagues will be null and void. Thatís zero promotion/relegation. Leagues will reset as is and be replayed with the same teams next season.

Percy Park the winners here if it's true. They'd have been down if a Points/Games method was used or even if they declared every remaining result 0-0.

The Percy park situation shows that the 2 systems mentioned by StevenL are totally unfair as they had some favourable fixtures and in my opinion if the games had been played they wouldn't of gone down. Shows what a difficult situation it is there is no right way to sort this.

No decisions have been made on anything. Various options under review.

No easy solution to it but when you look at the tables of Y1 and DN1 and the bottom 2 who are already relegated mathematically scrap the playoff between runners up in both them leagues swap west hartlepool and Y.M.C.A with consett and york for next season both sides have been head and shoulders above the rest of there divisions and its harsh on them having to stay another season in there leagues.

Old Brodleians.
York will/should/may go up to replace Ilkley

Tough on PP.

Any park posters on here with any views? Will there be an appeal?

From PP we are very disappointed with the result.

We were in a good run of form with coming games against teams around us.

The two teams below us BB and Pocklington both had to come to Preston Avenue and play us. They also had a game in hand against each other, whatís to say one of them teams would pick up no points in that fixture?

Also, there is an article from weeks before when BB cancelled their match against pock as their ground was flooded. They then had a 5pm slot at Keighley which they said no to as half of their squad was on a stag do. BUT their second team played Keighley there at 3pm?!?!

Their coach even talked about it in the paper https://www.thetelegraphandargus.co.uk/sport/rugbyunion/18311437.bradford-bingley-still-thwarted-impact-flooding/

There are bigger things happening in the world. We want rugby back playing but preferably in the league we think we should be in.

I am NOT from B&B. Was watching the situation at Bees the week in question. When they said they hoped to play on the 2nd team pitch some of us were surprised. I checked the pitch availability at both Yarnbury and Keighley - the two 3G pitches in the area. Both were fully booked on the Friday night and all day Saturday, at least that's what they showed when i checked. Keighley had already booked the pitch for the afternoon, so the option wasn't available to Bees.
That said, they didn't check the other local clubs to see if their pitches were available,  which they are obliged to do.

So, did they pull a fast one??
I'd say so. especially when Heath got ordered to find a pitch or face punishment a couple of weeks earlier.

In response to how Guis have been shafted, could you clarify your assumption?

Just my opinion Peterg think if the season had been completed they would  of won the league the 2 games they lost were both early in the season. I have no allegiance to Guisborough and if you were to ask most people who see regular DN2 games the majority would say they were the best side in the league. The same with Percy Park if the games had been played in my opinion they would of stayed up.
