U18 Girls in County Durham
« on: September 29, 2014, 05:26:00 PM »
Yesterday Bishop Auckland Girls Under 18s managed to field a squad of 18 players for their first ever matches, playing games against combined teams from West Park Leeds / Old Brodleians / Wetherby and Tynedale / Morpeth.  They lost to the more experienced Leeds team before being unfortunate to just miss out by a score to the Northumberland visitors.  Bishop Ladies are also fielding U13s , U15s and Senior teams this season.

Horden are now fielding U13 and U15 girls.

Our under 13 girls formed a guard of honour for the England team before their recent game with Samoa and also played against a side from Old Brodleians at half time during that game.

Our under 15s currently have 11 county representatives and at least one girl who has made it through to train in an elite England squad.

Very promising times!

The Area Finals of the National Cup are played at Darlington RUFC this Sunday.  In the U18s, Bishop Auckland play West Park Leeds and at U15, Morpeth/Tynedale play Castleford.  The winners will go forward to the National Semi-Finals at Doncaster.
