Not going to get involved in the predictions competition this late in the season but will throw in some thoughts making no claim to their being particularly insightful.

The overall picture ...
Two top 4 clashes have the potential to set two teams clear to be chased down, or to open things up for the remaining 10 games.  The Top 4 all seem to be going well - they have won 17 of their last 20 games and, of the three losses, two of them were within the top four itself (a tip of the hat here to Castle).

Vulcans being unbeaten in four, and two on the spin for Wallsend gives them breathing room.  Cliche time ... STC's position seems odd given some of their performances but "league tables don't lie" and this week's game against BBOB is the proverbial 6/8/10 pointer depending on how you want to bend the football analogy to rugby and the bonus point system.

Bishop v Ashington
05th v 12th
A heavy defeat for Bishop last time out and a good win for Ashington.  Despite comments above that discuss the top four, for me, Bishop have the potential for a major role in determining the top of final league table, and remain contenders if they hit a run of form.

Shields v Barny
11th v 08th
Shields may be looking over their shoulders a little, and Barney, I suspect, will want to use the second half the season to secure a league position that represents their pace and adventure in attack.

Redcar v Acklam
2nd v 03rd - First of two top four clashes today
Acklam showed few signs of a turkey hangover on Saturday, but Redcar are unbeaten at home.  Acklam have a noteworthy bonus point tally, but Redcar seemed to have developed a real cussedness, dogging one or two games out.  First contender for game of the day, this should be a cracker (xmas pun too late?) ... I wonder if there is a way of persuading the missus that, "yes dear, we should go to Redcar this weekend for {insert reason here}* and, oh, fancy that, we could pop in and watch this game too".
* - suggestions gratefully received ;)

Seaton v Winlaton
06th v 09th
A heavy defeat for Carew on Saturday, and a good win for the Vulcans - their home form particularly catches the eye now - sets up a mouth watering clash here.

S T College v  BBOB
14th v 13th
There's an argument for game of the day here - BBOB yet to win on the road ... could STC lift themselves off the base?

Wallsend v Hartlepool
10th v 07th
Cagey would be my expectation for this game.

Rockcliff v  Ponte
04th v 01st
The main thing that stands out to me here is that it is the two tightest defences in the league going against one another. I suppose Pont's record can't be argued with - only two points dropped in 15 games - but Rockliff are an exciting, pace-filled side.  A third contender for game of the day for me.

Bishop V Asington - Bishop
Shields V Barny - Barny to come back hard after last week
Redcar V Acklam - Game of the day for me. Going with Acklam.
Seaton V Winlaton - Winlaton in form team out of the two.
STC V BBOB - STC, BBOB struggle away from home.
Wallsend V Hartlepool - I imagine there will be a few bruised bodies from this game come Sunday. Going with Wallsend, home advantage.
Rock V Ponteland - Rock saw where Ponte are dangerous earlier in the season and will have a point to prove. Ponteland's first loss of the season.
